Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. Six pieces of information are all we need to get you carrier rates: your gender, date of birth, general health status, tobacco use history, the benefit amount you're interested in, and the term length. We collect your name, address, and detailed health history only if and when you decide to apply.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The rates you see reflect what carriers will charge for the health class you selected. The actual premium gets set by each carrier's underwriting process, which may keep your class the same, improve it, or adjust it. Nothing presented on this website is an offer of insurance coverage or a promise of a specific rate.
What happens when I click Apply?
Click Apply and you'll move into a secure application that already has your answers filled in. The platform lets you stop work on it and pick up later whenever you want. You'll complete everything electronically, and Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California firm (License 0B75129), processes your application.
Will I need a medical exam?
It depends on the carrier, the coverage amount, and what you told us about your health. A lot of carriers now use accelerated underwriting for eligible candidates, meaning they skip the medical exam and decide based on your answers and their database of records. Each quote on this page will tell you if an exam is required, maybe required, or not required.
Is a longer term better?
A term covers the years when losing an earner would hurt your family most: a home loan, young kids at home, a small business loan. Longer terms cost more per month but keep your rate locked in longer. The quote tool lets you see pricing for 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 year terms side by side, so you can see what longer coverage costs.
Does this site sell my information?
No. We don't collect personal details from the quote tool, we don't sell or trade visitor information, and our analytics run without cookies. Head to the privacy page to see exactly what data we gather and who has access to it.
